Formula:
Viral Coefficient K = Number of invites per user Γ Invite conversion rate
K < 1: Each user brings less than 1 new user (requires ongoing acquisition)
K = 1: Each user brings 1 new user (natural growth)
K > 1: Exponential growth (viral spread)
Exercise: Analyze the viral spreading mechanisms of the following products:
- Dropbox (invite friends for extra storage)
- Notion (team collaboration naturally invites others)
- Your own product (does it have any natural spreading mechanisms?)
